CURRENT FLASH WANNADOS

AFTERCARE

Care guidelines for after I tattoo you. Please follow these instructions to ensure optimal healing, prevent infection, and keep your tattoo looking nice. Your initial process will depend on if saniderm was applied during your appointment, or a bandage.
SANIDERM
A sticky, transparent bandage placed over a tattoo. If saniderm was applied during your appointment, you may notice a dark substance pooling underneath the bandage This is tattoo ink mixing with plasma and is a normal part of your tattoo healing. Remove the saniderm after 3 to 4 days in the shower and wash gently with antibacterial unscented soap. It is water resistant but not waterproof, and cannot be submerged in water for the days after its application. The only times to take saniderm off before 3 to 4 days are if the tattoo becomes exposed outside of the saniderm, or the liquid underneath leaks out of it. Both of these things render the saniderm non sterile and
allow bacteria to enter underneath the bandage. If these things occur, remove the saniderm as soon as possible in the shower and wash gently with antibacterial unscented soap. If you develop any sort of burning, itching, rash, or redness, take the saniderm off immediately, wash the area of the tattoo, and seek medical attention.

BANDAGE
If a simple bandage was applied with tape during your tattoo, simply remove this bandage the same day it was applied and gently wash with antibacterial unscented soap. During the healing process of your tattoo, you will need to wash it a few times daily with unscented antibacterial soap using your hand. Afterwards and/or when the tattoo becomes dry, apply a thin layer of unscented lotion.
HEALING
Your tattoo will need to heal for 2 weeks minimum on simple small linework designs and 4 weeks for larger shaded or color ones. A free touch-up is included with your tattoo as we understand they are organic
artworks that don't always heal perfectly.

THINGS TO AVOID
During the initial healing time (2 to 4 weeks), please do not do any
of the following:

Do not go to the beach, pool, lake, swimming, etc. Any place your tattoo will be submerged in water (including the bath tub) will compromise and/or ruin the healing process, and can cause bacterial infection.Do not expose your tattoo to direct sunlight. This will be exceptionally painful and compromise the healing process.Do not allow animal hair or saliva to come in contact with the tattoo.Do not pick at your tattoo for any reason. Allow the scabs to fall naturally.Do not over moisturize your tattoo. You don't need to slather it in lotion! A thin layer is all you need.

The artist can tell if you've let these factors impede your healing process. Damage caused by the above may incur additional fees if you wish for the tattoo to be touched up or fixed.

IF YOUR TATTOO SHOWS ANY SIGN OF INFECTION, PLEASE SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY.

This includes but is not limited to: blistering, developing excessive heat and/or redness, flu-like symptoms accompanying any unusual healing. purulent discharge, skin discoloration, or excessive swelling.
